The Water Diplomat seeks to contribute to public awareness of global, national and local water issues. We love to receive stories and to use our platform to raise water awareness and ‘mainstream water news’.

The Water Diplomat seeks to ‘mainstream water news’: public awareness of water issues is crucial to the achievement of global objectives, as water underlies many of the Sustainable Development Goals, and it is a major source of inspiration for global cooperation and peace building. Media, and in particular news media, are important in calling attention to water issues, stimulating public debate, and contributing to constructive dialogue. It is our belief that water can act as a knowledge broker, building bridges, facilitating new flows of information, shifting narratives towards collaboration and increasing awareness of our co-dependency rather than viewing water conflicts as a zero-sum game.
